    3. Hello, I am Elizabeth Grayson Brett...a descendant of Whaleys. I had heard that my Whaleys had come in through VA in the late 1600's or early 1700's and may have had a home in Maryland called Genesar. I have photos of Genesar in an old book...but don't know that it was a home of MY Whaleys. They may have moved to Tennnessee at some point as I had heard that rumor My oldest Whaley line may not be accurate as some of our family history was hidden and the family bible from that branch was burned. The oldest Whaley I have is (maybe) Ely Whaley , born in England (big maybe?) died in Walton Co., GA 1840 His son is listed as James D. Whaley b. 1808 in Walton Co. GA, d. 1888 Texas. married to Rachel Authur b. 1810 in Clark Co. GA, d. 1869 Polk Co. GA (source his elderly son) James's son or grandson is(maybe) : James Russell Whaley (Capt. 5th GA CSA) b. March 1, 1830 m. Oct. 7, 1855 to Emily Bell in Escambia Co. FL (source Emily's granddaughter's husband-my grandfather) James Russell Whaley's father is listed as Caleb Whaley whose brother is (maybe) Sidney Russell Whaley (Col. GA reg. CSA)(source my Grandfather) Needless to say...I'm a little confused Researching: Whaley, Wellborn, Bell, Little, King, Aurthur, Grayson, Casteel, loooking for various ancestries and possible Native American ancestry.
