Hello, My name is John Whaley, Jr. I only know my line back to my great-grandfather...Price Newton Whaley. Of course my fathers name is John...his father was Jack Jay Whaley. I was given somewhat of a family heirloom....a violin...yes, a violin. It's in sad shape, but, if you look carefully, with a flashlight, on the inside of the violin, there are initials of previous owners. i guess that when the violin was repaired, each 'repairman' initialed his/her work. well, there is one initial that says....."S. Whaley 1862" Since my grandfather gave this violin to my dad, and then my dad gave it to me, i figure it must be 'ours'. so, all i can ask now is.....HELP. hahahaha. Thanks, John Whaley, Jr
