My name is Deborah Whaley Handshew I live in Harrisburg, PA . I found this web ring over the summer, but didn't have my family information to share. I am trying to find out if the research my father did is correct. The oldest relative we have proof of is Thomas Whaley, Sr. 1756-1847 md Eunice Hubbard, Providence, RI. Son Thomas Whaley, JR (1782-1846) md Lydia Kent lived near Linesville, PA. They had 8 children, Henry, Nancy, Althea May, William, Eunice, Lydia, Rachael, and Jeremiah. Henry (1805-1877) md Hannah Mosier. They had 6 children Chauncey, Josiah, Hiram, Lucinda, Levi, and Almira. Josiah ( Cy) (1837-1915) md Mahala Ladner (1815-1854) they had two children Elrie (1863-1938) and Alvira ( 1865- 1939). Josiah left PA around 1868 and moved to Illinois where he married again to Susan Frances Bean and had two more children, Neva Marie (1872 -1977) and Marshall Henry. Elrie (1863-1937) Linesville, PA married Valania Carnes in 1896. They had eleven children. Neva, Carl, Merle, Cy, Elmer, May, Clair, Edna, Rhea, Helen, and Guy Thomas. Guy Thomas (1899-1976) married Allice Catherine Bowen (1903-1986) Conneaut Ohio they later moved to Queens Junction,PA they had one son who is my grandfather Paul Whaley (1932- ) md Betty Sweeney (1925-1996). They had two children John Thomas ( 1947 -) and Cathie Aleene (1948- ) John Thomas married Dianna Watson (1947) in 1968. I was born in 1970. I hope all this information is helpful to people researching the Whaley famiy. If anyone one thinks some of the info is not really right please let me know.
