Their son, Alfred Marshall, was born about August 1860, so Angeline (also seen it spelled Anglice, Angelique?) Whaley would've been born about 1840? I'm not trying to sound vague, I have no other hard evidence of Angeline and John's existence, other than the civil wedding record of their son, Alfred, who married Julia Lachance in Massachusetts in 1883. The 1900 Census report indicates that Alfred M.'s parents were born in Canada, but family lore suggests that they came from England. Also, family lore suggests that Alfred had a sister, Effie (Euphemia?) who stayed in England. This is about all that I have at this time. Does any of this sound familiar, even slightly?
