    1. [WHALEY] Theophilus (Robert?) Whaley will/settlement?
    2. Carolyn Vosburg
    3. Does anyone have a will or settlement of estate of Theophilus Whalley of RI d. 1720 listing the children? Several submissions to LDS archives show a James Whaley d. 1750 in Richmond Co, VA as his son. Other lists don't show that Theophilus ever had a son named James! Would love to see some documentation proving this one way or the other as I am still trying to locate the parents of my James, d. 1785 in Loudoun Co, VA md. 1) Hannah Higgerson and 2) Penelope King. Thanks, Carolyn Carolyn Whaley Vosburg Houston, TX

    2. Carolyn, This little article was found at the Oakland County Pioneer and Historical Society in Pontiac, MI. in a file of birth, death, and interesting items on file cards: Whaley, James (p.211, Pike's History of Camden, Oneida Co. NY 1897) James Whaley came here prior to 1809; he was in the War of 1812. His Bro. Theophilus Whaley came from Lake George about 1821. He was a soldier of "76". His wife was born and brought up in Litchfield, Conn. Mr & Mrs Theophilus Whaley lived and died on this farm (North Hillsboro) and are buried in the family lot close by. Mr Whaley died 1827 ae 68. Mary, his wife d. 1842 ae 74. There were 8 children. 5 sons and 3 dau. Reuben Whaley, s. of Theophilus was b. at Lake George, 1787; d. in Camden, Nov., 1850. His wife was b. 1802; d.1888. Reuben Whaley was in the War of 1812 and she drew a pension until her death. They are buried in Forest Park Cem.; had 7 ch. One more: (Savages Gen. Dict. of RI) Whaley, Samuel of Kingston, RI, only s. of Theophilus of same, had 2 wives; 1st Hopkins; 2nd Harrington; (as Potter reports- 7 ch; Thomas, Samuel, Theophilus, James or Jeremy, John, and 2 daus. That he d. abt. 1782. Theophilus of Kingston came from VA. with wife Elizabeth, abt. 1676 and had Joan, Ann, Theodosia, Elizabeth, Martha, Lydia & Samuel; but it is thought that if not more, the 2 eldest were born in VA. Potter says he knew Hebrew and Greek and d. abt 1719 or 20, ae 104.) This may not have anything at all to do with the James you are looking for or his descendants; and if not then may help someone else, as I'm trying to get all my bits of info posted while I can.
