I've never attempted to research further back than the William and Hannah Whaley family. I'm descended from three of their daughters and I have some cousins who are descended from 4 of the daughters. My research has been on the descendants of those daughters. As far as getting on the same page, I will be more than happy to when someone proves the information that I have had for years to be wrong. Or at least gives me a strong argument. I'm not going to change just because someone comes along and says I'm wrong. I am easy to get along with and will readily make changes to my genealogy when those changes are given to me not in a condescending way.
