    3. Just curious... Is there a FASTER/EASIER way to research the census than what I'm doing? (Keep in mind I'm researching other names in addition to Whaley.) I live in Springfield, Missouri, and the local library has to order census and/or soundex from a library in Kansas City. The last time I used that service it took over a month to receive a soundex I ordered, and 2 months for a particular census. The local LDS Family History center also can order; it's usually within 2-3 weeks, but at a higher price (3-4 dollars, where the library is $1 per reel). I made one trip to Kansas City to use the library there. Since it was a Saturday, I had to use the regular public library, but I was able to stay 3-4 hours and do several things at once. However, the census I wanted was unavailable (i.e., loaned out). In Kansas City, there's also a National Archives in Kansas City, open only on weekdays, but it does have all the censuses and they don't leave the premises. But... it requires a free weekday and a 3-hour drive. Is there any other way of using census that I'm missing??
