Randy, Have you looked for Job in the 1860 and 1850 census? In 1860 he should be 38 living with Mary and James. I don't know if there is an index for 1860 Ohio. You may have to read Jackson county from end to end. Quite a job, but often worth it. In 1850 he should be 18 and may be living with his parents. I would start by checking the Whaley families in Jackson Co. There are 7 of them, 5 in Liberty Twp. According to my index they are: Abner Liberty Twp 377 Elizabeth Liberty Twp 377 John Scioto Twp 361 Joseph Liberty Twp 377 Luke Liberty Twp 384 Silas Scioto Twp 361 Silas Jr. Liberty Twp 377 Do you have ready access to the census? I do and can check these if you wish.
