Hi Whaley's, I went to Gainesville and Henrietta the other day and have in my possession the original marriage certificates of R.M. (Rufus M.) to Mattie Giddens. They were married on the 22nd of June (I think, can't make it out very well) 1905. If there are any descendants of RM or Mattie that would like this please let me know. Also I have the original of Marion W. Clopton to Blanche Whaley (daughter of James C. Whaley) they were married June 15,1909. Any relatives of these are welcome to have this one too. I have a copy of Missouri H. to Jane Puryear certificate, they didn't have or couldn't find the original to that one. they were married May 6,1861. We also went to the Whaley United Methodist Church in Gainesville. It is really a beautiful church. They have the original stain glass windows that was in the first church that was burned in 1887. I took pictures so when I get them developed if anyone wants to see them I can scan them in. I think that is all for now.......I came back with loads of information, just haven't had time to go through it all and sort it out. I did find out that the Whaley's were a wild bunch down there!
