MO 1870 census. Samuel is living with the Benton Baker family and Disa is living with the James A. Witten family. They are apparently on adjoining farms. The dwelling numbers are 114 and 115. Disa L. appears to own the farm that James A. Witten is farming. She is shown with a $1000 value of real estate owned. Following is the info from the census: Baker, Benton 31 Farmer MO Disa 23 keeping house MO Amanda 4 MO James 2 MO Whaley, Samuel 17 Farm hand MO Baker, Moses 7 MO Witten, James A. 35 Farmer Tenn Nancy 25 keeping house MO William 11 Ark Martha 8 Kansas Andrew J. 5 Kansas Flora 1 MO Florance 1 MO Whaley, Disa L. 50 MO My guess would be that Disa L. Whaley is the mother of Disa Baker and Nancy Witten. Hope this helps someone George
