I would appreciate hearing from anyone with ANY information on ANY Whaley's in New London County CT in the late 1700's and early 1800's. I am still attempting to solve the mystery of whom were the parents of my Theophilus Whaley born in 1759 in South Kingstown RI, married in New London Co CT in 1779 and died in Hartwick, Otsego Co., NY in 1841. Ruby: Please let Jackie know that I have confirmed through a series of original records, that Theophilus Whaley born 1759 South Kingstown, RI who died in Harwick, Otsego Co., NY in 1841 wife's name was Mary Killiam daughter of Samuel Killiam and Deborah Morgan. (her exact maiden name had previously been uncertain and her parents unknown). I am hopefully getting closer to finding Theophilus's parents. Joy
Hello Listers, It's interesting that my Whaley ancestor, Louisa Maria Whaley was supposedly born in Otsego, NY in 1808, to as yet unknown parents. She married Nathaniel Pearsall whose family came from New London, CT. Louisa and Nathaniel had three children before Nathaniel died about 1832; Clarke, Abigail, Sarah. After Nathaniel died, Louisa married John Adams Rockwell in Michigan in 1833, then had 8 more children, all residing in Michigan, thereafter.
