I have different information as to 'place' of birth for my g-grandmother (DEC 1841) and believe that one is town or village name and one is parish. I think I should give a town name as place (and cite the other in my notes). New Monkland, Lanark (per 1851 Census Index) Rawyards, Lanark (per 1881 Census) At Genuki, I find both locations, but New Monkland also is found in the parish search, while Rawyards is not. For parishes, I also find: 651 New Monkland 1895-1955 651/1 New Monkland, Burgh of Airdrie, 1855-1894 651/2 New Monkland, Landward, 1855-1894 I do not know what the differences are. Also, I am confused as to the dates given. What was New Monkland prior to 1855, in terms of being a parish? Any help or comments appreciated. --Noelle, in Ohio, USA ******************************************************** Noelle Van Pulis (aka Mrs. E.
