Hello Diane, My Andrew RENNIE, born 1698 at Killen, Scotland, son of Andrew RENNIE and Jean COWPER, left home at age 18yrs and went to Gateshead, County Durham, N.E. England, where he promtly changed his name to RENNEY, married a local? girl and started a family and a new life there.He was the start of my Dad's , County Durham family, which is thriving still today.
