Dear Ken I can't thank you enough for your help.My Uncles and Aunt who are the children of Anna Murray MACNEILL Kelley and the grandchildren of Susan and Peter MACNEILL are coming to Scotland in June to see where they came from as it is their first trip to where their Mom spent the first 16 years of her life before coming to Pa, USA.. It will be very exciting for them.I inadvertently confused you and myself! on all the places that I told you. After speaking with my Uncle and Sister last night this is how the story goes(I hope).The doucument is the birth certificate of Anna MACNEILL ,the daughter of Susan and Peter MACNEILL.The reference to Fasnacloich Appin Argyllshire is where Peter and Susan got married on Sept25,1883.Then the district of Bothwell and the county of Lanark as well asCalderbraes refer to the place of birth. Does this make any more sense to you? I wonder if I could ask you how I would go about getting a copy of their marriage certificate and I am assuming that what you found in the 1881 census must be correct as there were no more people by those names,Correct? Susan and Peter Macneill also had a son. Alex-born in1887,a daughter Jessie who did not emmigrate to the USA but died and is buried there in the Glasgow region ,a daughter Catherine who died at Ellis Island in NYC of tuberculosis and a daughter Nellie.
