    1. John "Jean" Gaston, the Huguenot

    3. Fellow researchers: Other researchers of the Gaston name are divided as to where this fellow fled when exiled from France. The ~generally~ accepted story is that he fled to Scotland either bringing his wife (Agnes of Navarre) or marrying her after his arrival in Scotland. That union produced 3 ~known~ sons, all born in Scotland..William b. 1642, John b. 1645 and Alexander b.1648. All three sons went to Ireland ca 1675, settled in Co Antrim for a couple of generations and onward to America. My questions are: how would I go about confirming (if such is the case) John "Jeans" presence in Scotland? (Thanks to Clyde Lapsley's lookup, there were Gastons around the Roxburgshire, "Gastouns....in Lessudden 1552...") Has anyone run across this surmane or does anyone have any thoughts ? Thanks, Russ Perry
