The Pringle surname caught my eye. There were two young Reformed Prebyterian ministers who served churches in Mecklenburg/Cabarrus Co.'s NC in the early 1800: James Pringle and Francis Pringle That surname has always intrigued me because my g. grandfather Samuel Amzi Snell (1832 Mecklenburg NC - 1886 Houston /Co. TX) had an older brother named James PRINGLE Snell. We do not know their mother's maiden name....only that in the 1880 census census for Houston Co. TX, Samuel Amzi Snell's father's birthplace is vacant but the birthplace of his mother is shown as IRELAND. Cordelia Austin, TX
