I am at a standstill on my Lyons family. Family legend says that my gggrandfather, Oscar M. Lyons, came from Scotland with his family, and that his parents died on the voyage over. I found him in the 1870 census, where he says his place of birth is Ohio. Then I found his son, William, in the 1910 census. He lists his father's place of birth as West Virginia. I am so confused, I don't know where to look next. I know Oscar was born in 1849 and married in Douglas co. Ks in 1873 to Polly Lampson. He died in Ks 1930. I know nothing of parents, siblings etc. If this sounds familiar, or if you have any suggestions on where to go next I would really appreciate hearing from you. Thank you, Lisa Lyons Turner
