    2. Margaret Middleton
    3. Hello Colin, I have a John Mackie, from Huntley near Banff, Scotland. He was born about 1782, and eventually ended up in Australia where he followed a variety of careers. He married his 3rd wife in 1834. He was quite a character by all accounts. One of his sons (my great grandfather) changed his name to Mackay, and there is some speculation that John himself may have been a Macky. John called himself Mackie in Sydney and Wooloongong, NSW (according to his children's baptismal details. If anyone knows any more of these Mackay/Mackie/Macky people, I would like to hear from you. Margaret Middleton in Brisbane Looking for: Mc Donald (Dumfries/Vic); Mackie/Mackay (Huntley/NSW/N.Qld) Middleton (Ireland/Scotland/NSW/Qld/India) Guise (Montrose/India/NSW) Mitchell (Vic) Templeton (Ire/Tas/Vic,Scotland) and anyone with "Fancourt" or "Reay" embedded in their name.

Margaret MATHESON, daughter of John, son of Alexander of Skye. She married John MacDonald in Kilvaxter. (There is a lot about them on p 65 and 73 in "Cape North and Vicinity" by MacDonald). Then we have a Jane Matheson, from Kilvaxter, who married George Watt. They were parents of Helen Watt who married John MacIntosh, and the latter were parents of Betsy MacIntosh my g-grandmother. Betsy married Charles U. Campbell at Pleasant Bay, CB. Annie MARTIN b at Kilvaxter, date unknown but her oldest son, Donald, was born 1791. She married Donald MacIntosh in Skye. After he died, she took several of their children to Grantosh, CB. The only children I can find right now are Old Donald, John, Sarah, Donaldson, and Young Donald. (Old Donald disappeared, his parents thought he was dead and named the next son Donald. After she came to Grantosh, she found the first Donald there.) If you can find any connection, I will find the other children. I am descended from John who married Helen Watt. Their daughter, Betsy, married Charles U. Campbell whom I am desperately trying to trace. I do hope we are related! Joy Campbell Voss

    1. Re: Duke of Kent
    2. Earl: Thanks so much for your reply. Malcolm McSwain was my gg-Grandfather. I am looking for a Margaret McSwain who was kin in some way to him. We think she was a cousin but have no real proof. She married Peter Nicholson and was also in Perry County MS after Peter died, and signed papers with Malcolm(1823). I have the original papers in my possession. Would also love to verify if other McSwains were aboard the ship. Thank you for looking out for me. I have looked everywhere on the "net" for any information about the ship. Also the Midlothian. So far, no luck. Eileen

    1. HIDDEN FAMILIES - *~#~~ ALIASES ~**^#^
    2. Hello All I have had several people tell me that the Hidden Families article by, Stuart Mitchell came out all funny with "wierd objects". I dont know why it did that, only a few came out that way. It came originaly as a Word 6 doc. and I converted it to a txt. doc, to insert it into the email. This might have something to do with it, it did lose alot of great farmatting in the conversion. Anyone who would like the original Word 6.doc, I will be happy to send it off. It's "one" of the most intersting articles in my whole genealogical adventure so far. Im sure Stuart would want you all to have it the way it was originaly intended. By the way, he had this article published a few years back in the Journal of Abeerdeen & N.E.Scotland Family History Library Society. (in fact an interim research report on the OPR (Invera'an) and RC registers of Glenlivet by him is there as well. If anyone can get this on disc, please send it my way. I was in contact with Stuart about a month ago when I was given permission to post this article, I was shocked to hear he had passed 1 day before I ended up sending. Something said to post that article, and thats what I did. Anyone who would like the original please let me know, just give me about a week to do it all once. I have never been to Scotland but I hope this helps. Hopefully I'll make it out some day, Im ony 28 Ive got some time left. -J.McComb-S.California-Researching Clan MacKintosh and Clan Chattan-
