I am new to this list but I am hoping someone can help as I have drawn a blank with tracing my HARKES ancestors.So far I am back to George HARKES - sometimes spelt HERKES/HERKNESS/HERKIS born 1811 at Bolton, East Lothian. Thomas LOCKIE was said to be a School Teacher, on the Death Regd. of his dau. Elizabeth when she died age 73 yrs in 1873, in Stow, Midlothian. May have been anywhere in any surrounding Counties or Parishes. Does this sound like the LOCKIE family that you are researching ?

My great grandfather was Joseph William Charles Tweedy. He had a brother called Benjamin Tweedy. Joseph W. was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne on March 31/1848 and died July 17/1900 in Rotterdam (the Netherlands). Their parents were Benjamin Tweedy and Elisabeth Schmidt. Trying to find out more about his parents and familly who must have come from the area of Newcastle upon Tyne and when the familly moved to The Netherlands. Any information is welcome

I'm trying to find information on William John Mac Queen, born in Darvel, Scotland 25/6/1898. Parents were William and Mary. Brother was Thomas. Information I have indicates he changed his name from Mc Queen to Mac Queen sometime between the two World Wars, so his birth name may have been William John Mc Queen.
