Hello from Canada, I am seeking the parents and any possible siblings of my g.g. Grandfather, Alexander LOCKHART, born abt. 1788 ((Scot?Ire?). Married 1826, Diocese of Armagh, Ireland, to Marie Richenet from Switzerland (Church of Ireland). Died Belfast, 1848. Had son also Alexander LOCKHART, who co-founded Crawford & Lockhart law firm in Belfast in 1860's (firm still in business), although last family member, Alexander Agnew LOCKHART, died 1925. We have family crest inscribed "John Lockhart of Lee, Esq. Also have some family silver with the Boar's head. I am trying to find out which family members came from Scotland to Ireland, and when? The family law firm has references to wills of Samuel, John and Robert LOCKHART, years from 1765 - 1856 in Carrickfergus and Ballymena, Ireland. I have reviewed the book, Seven Centuries of the Lockharts of Lee by Simon MacDonald Lockhart but cannot find from those particular charts the likely family member who moved to Ireland. Would be grateful of any information or suggestions from members. Thank you. Elayne Lockhart, Toronto, Canada Searching: LOCKHART, AGNEW, RICHENET, ELSWORTHY, MC AULEY, MC MULLEN

I am looking for any information on Carscadden in Scotland and also the origins of the name. I know the family moved to Ireland and the story goes that they were basically thrown out of Ireland with others who refused to adhere to new laws made by the English. Apparently the family then went into Ireland, Wales etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Stephanie Eddy, Ontario, Canada

Hello. I am searching for folk with the surname McGEE. Does anyone know of a Richard McGEE born circa 1837 and his brother Owen Curran McGEE born circa 1838. They "appeared" in NZ sometime before 1852. It is believed they arrived as children with their parents, but I am not sure as to who their parents were, and can find no McGEE's entering NZ around those years. Anything would be most appreciated. Ciao, Beth Auckland, NZ

Hi Listers I have changed email address and thought I would repost my names. Looking for information on James DAVIE, Silversmith who married Elizabeth HALLIDAY in Greenock on 21 June 1816. They had two sons, James (b 2.4.1819) and Samuel Ewing (b 14.7.1824). James DAVIE, Silversmith was apparently born in Glasgow, although I cannot confirm this. Can anyone help me obtain the maiden name of Margaret Middlemiss. In 1955 she was 64 or 68, I think the latter. Her husband was the baker in St Boswells, until he was bought out by Carrs of Carlisle. I think it is just possible her maiden name might have been Taylor, Simpson or Shields.
