    2. Like you I found a Naturalization Paper for John Doyle on Ancestry.com but only the front side of the page was shown and the information that I needed is supposedly on the backside. I contacted the New York State Library about the microfilm roll number and was told that I may not have the correct roll number. It was suggested that I hire a researcher, which I did to find out how much it would cost. I was told $40 a hour with 2 hour minimum and the cost would probably run more. I'm still waiting to make up my mind. The only information that I have on our family "John Doyle" (possible H. middle initial - found on the US Census) - he was born June 01, 1849 at Wexford, IR. On another US Census I found that he immigrated to the US in 1866. I hunted down the Ships Lists for 1866 and found "A" John Doyle. I don't know if he is the right one, so I am still looking for proof. John Doyle was a Catholic, so I am hoping to find Baptismal Records at a Church in Wexford. I could really use some help with this ancestor. I want to know his parents and siblings. Bernice @Texas

    3. Dear Bernice @ Texas You might try St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rome, Oneida Co., NY. Many Doyles from Co. Wexford went there. Arthur was one of the Doyles which might account for the A initial. Some of the old ones lived at 611? Calvert St. I think that they might be cousins of the Murphys from Enniscorthy, Co Wexford. If you find a connection to the Murphys please contact me. 3. Have you tried checking the Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness to see if anyone has access to the record you are looking for? http://www.raogk.org Kathy -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2006 10:37 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [WEX] JOHN DOYLE 1849 Like you I found a Naturalization Paper for John Doyle on Ancestry.com but only the front side of the page was shown and the information that I needed is supposedly on the backside.
