Kristina and Cyril, I have an interest in Alice Delaney. She married Captain John Grandy a seaman who sailed out of Waterford. John Grandy was born in Duncannon and it is not known when he went to live in Waterford, probably around 1815/20. John married Alice Delany at the Waterford Holy Trinity Cathedral, Church of Ireland on 13/11/1837. He was aged 34 years. Little is known about Alice,. According to her death certificate Alice died in London in July 1875 aged 53, her daughter Kate signed her Death Certificate. Alice would have been very young when she married John, possibly only 15 or 16 years old. Alice’s place and date of birth is not yet known, approx 1821/22. Grateful for any information on the Delaney Families of Wexford /Waterford between 1800 - 1860.
