    1. NEW SUBSCRIBER RESEARCHING JACKMAN
    2. I live in Manchester, England and have joined the WEXFORD rootsweb mailing list as I have been informed this is the most likely area to find the JACKMAN name, I'm hoping to find some information on my Irish ancestry of which I know nothing. My grt grandfather Martin JACKMAN was born 1858,1861 or 1862 according to census information, 1881 at St Helens, Lancashire, England he's a 23 year old lodger born in Bristol, no registrations traced anywhere in England in fact no Martin's show for many years, the 1891 census gives age 30 years born Ireland, 1901 his age is given as 39 years and again no county is given it also shows his youngest daughter Mary Jackman age 1year was also born in Ireland, which makes me think they must have been visiting relatives at the time, and lastly Martins marriage certificate gives his fathers name as John JACKMAN a carpenter. Sorry to be so long winded, hoping you can shed some further light or can make some connection. Thank you for your time and very best wishes Ann.M.Rutter

    3. The table below shows the number of jackman households in each county in the Primary Valuation property survey of 1848-64. Click on a county name for a breakdown of the number of households by parish (paying). Carlow 1 Dublin 3 Kilkenny 24 Laois 14 Tipperary 2 Wexford 17 Does this help any? It narrows down where people came from.
