Ann, Following on from what you got from Mike. There are 6 John JACKMANS recorded in the Griffiths' Valuations for the years 1848-64 living in Wexford. There are NO Martins recorded. However there are 3 John JACKMANS recorded in Kilkenny for this period and 2 by the name of Martin. There are no Johns or Martins in Carlow, Dublin or Laois. I personally, cannot find any 2 JACKMANS in the Tipperary area.
