Dear readers I have just received a marriage certificate dated 1923 between Francis Moore and Kathleen Hughes nee Byrne which gives the groom's address as 'Felt Slob' - I know North and South Slobs are now wildfowl reserves but despite surfing the web I cannot find any mention of 'Felt Slob' - would anyone have any idea where it is. thanking you Eileen
Felt Slob is an area of the South Slob, Wexford. It got its name from the number of felt roofed haysheds erected on it. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, March 11, 2006 2:09 PM Subject: [WEX] Place name Felt Slob, Wexford > Dear readers > > I have just received a marriage certificate dated 1923 between Francis > Moore > and Kathleen Hughes nee Byrne which gives the groom's address as 'Felt > Slob' - I know North and South Slobs are now wildfowl reserves but > despite > surfing the web I cannot find any mention of 'Felt Slob' - would anyone > have any > idea where it is. > > thanking you > > > Eileen > > > > > > ==== WEXFORD Mailing List ==== > DO NOT post virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political > announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, etc. > >
