I am searching for the parents of John Doyle born June 01,1849 at Wexford. John Immigrated to the US in 1866 and settled in the state of Texas. I do not know anything about his Irish parentage. I have located two ships leaving Dublin in the time frame I am looking at - the S.S. Erin and the S.S. Malta. They each have a John Doyle on the ships list approximately 17/18 years old. Can anyone help me find his ancestry? Thank you, Bernice Hope Doyle New Braunfels, Texas
As a matter of interest, there is a John Doyle transported to Australia for 7 years per Lord Sidmouth 1821 from County Wexford. There were actually 2 X John Doyle's per Lord Sidmouth (2) in 1821 One was aged 22 from Tipperary and the other 37 from Wexford. Both were transported for 7 yrs Neither are in the 1828 census. They both got Cert of Freedom within a week or each other and the older one got a ticket of Leave in 1825. So if anyone are missing one it may be him. regards Lyn in Oz. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, March 19, 2006 10:23 AM Subject: Re: [WEX] Doyle >I am searching for the parents of John Doyle born June 01,1849 at Wexford. > John Immigrated to the US in 1866 and settled in the state of Texas.
