My great-great grandmother was Frances Murphy from somewhere in County Wexford. At least that's what it says on the birth records of several of her children. She married James Savage in the early 1850s and emigrated to New Orleans in the mid to late 1870s. My great-grandmother was Frances Mary Savage bn. in Dublin 9 December 1870. Many of their descendants still live in the New Orleans area, which (contrary to popular belief) still exists. The original parts of the city were not flooded and are recovering from the wind damage. Our ancestors were intelligent enough to not build on reclaimed swamp surrounding their city. If only we could recover from our politicians. Enough said. Greetings to the cousins.
