Hi Norm, I haven't forgotten you.? I finally recieved a marriage certicficate for my William?FITZSIMONS m. Susan BARRINGTON on April 7, 1866 both from the Parish of Ballycanew, District of Gorey.? His father is listed as Martin Fitzsimons and Susan's father is James Barrington (not William as I had been told previously).?? Their witnesses were James Noulan and Sarah Redmond.? Do you show a James Barrington in your line?? Regards,? Joan L. Thanks for your reply.? I'm not sure of the site where I got your name and email; however, I think it was Rootsweb.? I have not been able to replicate the feat again. ? The following is information I have on Elizabeth Barrington and family prior to her marriage to Richard Elliott in 1867. ? Aghold Register...in Wicklow ? >From the marriage Register 1816-1819 10.11.1826 William Barrington of Ballycanno (I believe Ballycannew) Wexford to Elizabeth Oakes of Coolkenno.(a) ? >From the Baptismal Register Elizabeth Barrington 12..2.1837 Father William Labourer Mother Eliza Coolkenno (a) ? >From the burial Register 16.12.1851 Catherine Barrington Coolkenno (a) 13.2.1844 Elizabeth Barrington Coolkenno Age 48 30.8.1865 William Barrington age 66 Oake's Cross ? I don't know if the Catherine above was a sister.? I have spoken to my Aunt and, she does not think her grandmother had any other siblings.? However, it is hard to imagine that, given the fact William and Elizabeth Oakes were married Nov 10, 1826 and, Elizabeth died in 1844, that there are no other surviving siblings.? There is a mention through Griffith's Valuation of William Barrington (39), Elizabeth (43) and a child (3) working on the estate of the late Earl Fitzwilliam.? It does not specify that he worked for the Earl or, one of his tenants. ? There is a lady from around Dublin who says she will go down to the Ballycanew area in the next month or so to recheck the Aghold Church records and, let me know. ? I am attaching a picture of my ggrandmother Elizabeth (Eliza) Elliott, nee Barrington. ? Slainte and best wishes Norm Wakefield
