    3. Hello, I am looking for information on Furlong Family who came over to the United States in 1819. This is all the information I have on them from the ship manifest Arrival Date: Feb 22, 1819 Port of Arrival: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Port of Departure: Cork, Ireland Ship Name: Amiable Names Laurence Furlong Mary Furlong (wife) Bridgit John Nick I believe that John (if I have the correct family) is my GGGgrandfather and was born abt 1814 in Ireland. Bridgit would most likely have been born before 1814, and Nick after 1814. And I would assume that Laurence and Mary would have been born during the 1790's in Ireland as well? Hoping to find them in Wexford since many Furlongs came from there. Also, is it strange that if they came from Wexford that they would have left Ireland from Cork? Thank you for your help, Jill

    3. Jill, Cork (Cobh) was the primary port of departure in those times...maybe the only one. My Galway ancestors also left from Cork (Queenstown).
