    3. An excellent source of information on ports of departure in Ireland in the 18th century is R. J. Dickson's book, Ulster Emigration to Colonial America 1718-1775. It contains a map of the ports and the routes from various towns and cities, giving you an idea of the likely port of departure. For what it is worth, my Fortune ancestors departed Newry in 1767 and arrived in Charleston, SC later that year. There is no proof they lived in Newry and the majority of Fortunes at that time lived in Wexford. Lynda Moseley Barnwell, SC (Researching John Fortune b. abt. 1725 Ireland died 1776 Camden District, SC m. Anne (possibly Fitzhenry), 7 children. ----- Original Message ----- From: "ckhofmann HOFMANN" <ckhofmann@msn.com> To: <wexford@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 28, 2009 10:24 PM Subject: Re: [WEXFORD] ( Furlong) Departure from Cork >I am wondering is there any records of passengers leaving from Cork? 3. Is there a source for the early 19 hundreds as well? I am looking for my gggrandfather and gggrandmother, they immigrated from Ireland to Nova Scotia around the early 1820's. hey settled in Port Hood Nova Scotia. Their names are Richard Harding and Bridget nee Murphy. I think they were from County Wexford.
