    3. Dear Co. Wexford searchers, I do not know if anyone has access to Enniscorthy records, particularly RC Baptisms. I am desperately trying to find the parents of the following as I believe that most of them are brothers and sisters. All of them immigrated to the area around Rome, Oneida County, New York State in the USA . Some of them came in 1847. I do not know if there are civil birth records available but perhaps something would give the parents names. Most of their weddings occurred after they immigrated. They were witnesses in each others weddings, sponsored each other's children's baptisms and lived close to each other. If not siblings, perhaps cousins? It is most likely that the mother was called Mary but Ellen was an important name to them. John MURPHY born Dec 1819 , wed Bridget DOYLE, born Apr 1824 Anastasia MURPHY born 1821, wed Patrick REDMOND in 1850 in USA. Michael MURPHY born about 1822, wed Mary O'BRIEN Timothy b MURPHY born 1824, wed Catherine MAHAR Moses MURPHY born 1825, wed Mary REDMOND Mary b MURPHY born 1825-1826 Daniel MURPHY Aug 1826, wed Johannah CRIMMINS Julia MURPHY born 1827, wed William SINNOTT Thomas C. MURPHY born 1829, immigrated 1847 from Enniscorthy. (my great great grandfather) (He wed Catherine MERNA - dgt of Patrick & Anne, also from Enniscorthy). Catherine MURPHY born abt. 1830, wed Denis WHELAN James MURPHY born Bet. 1831 - Dec 1834 wed Anne CONNOR Charles MURPHY born about 1833 wed Margaret O'NEIL Nicholas MURPHY b. May 1844 wed Sarah J. LAMPHERE They insisted that they did not immigrate because of the famine so I suspect they might have been connected to the uprising or just came for work. Thank you for any help. God bless you for the research that you do for so many people. No one should ever be forgotten. Suzanne T.

    1. [WEXFORD] More Doyles. Murphys, Redmonds, Laceys, McCrearys

    3. I see a lot of references to Doyles, Murphys and Redmonds - as well as Kavanaughs lately. Does anyone related to those names as well as Lacey and McCreary have someone coming to Philadelphia, PA and Queens, NY? My grandmother, Nellie McCreary, came to Philadelphia with her cousins John Doyle and Mary & Annie Murphy in the late 1800s. She also was related to the Redmonds and Laceys of Queens. She lived with her aunt Margaret Cavenaugh (Kavenaugh) and her cousin Walter Lacey in Philadelphia- all from Wexford. Many of her siblings and cousins came to both Philadelphia and Queens and went back to Wexford. Some stayed, some just visited. Nellie eventually married in Philadelphia, moved to Queens and then moved to White Plains in Westchester County. It seems she was related to many Doyles, Murphys and Redmonds. Thanks for an interesting message board. Suzanne B.
