Hello Patti, I have the Catholic records for Gorey and also Kilanerin, Ballyoughter, etc. some of the Churches used before 1845, when the Gorey Church was built. I can't find any records for Nicholas Fitzpatrick and Ellen Mitten. But I have a William Fitzpatrick married to a Margaret Kavanagh who had a daughter Ellen and son Nicholas (first borns) in 1875 and 1876, both Baptized in the R.C. Church in Ballyoughter. Their residence was given as Ballycanew. The also had a John Thomas, b. 1878 and a William James b. 1880. They were Married in the same Ballyoughter Church in 17 Feb. 1874. Perhaps there is a connection and clues in the above records to your Fitzpatricks. At least it's a place to start.
