Anne The RIC was the Royal Irish Constanbulary which means that if this is your Michael he was a retired policeman in 1911. There are records available for each person who served with the RIC. Anne,   There are 15 Michael Donovans listed as serving in the Royal Irish Constabulary. The earliest record is for Michael Donovan, Service number is 6701. The records for this service number are shown as being 1840-46. There are no Michael Donovans shown serving prior to 1840 as I have the listings and service numbers back to 1816    The numbers are not in sequence but I do have the information. If you knew his service number or the years he served I could give you this information.
