    3. Hello List, This is my first message. I am trying to find a birth place and parents for a George Bosworth born 1831-1832-1833 in England he came to Tasmania in 1857 and married Ellen Jordan in 1858 in Hobart. On his wedding certificate he was a mariner.I have no information before he came out to Tasmania so I have posted message on other sites hoping someone may have some details on the mystery George. No one in the family has any idea where he came from he arrived here to late to be a convict and I think he may have known Ellen in England. Regards Pat

    3. Having connections to the research you are doing it has been suggested to look in this area for George Little Steeping, Lincolnshire, England But as he came as a mariner to Tasmania have you had time to check the records to see if he is listed as a missing ( jumped ship ) mariner which happened in those times, sometimes found in Police Gazettes which I think are now online ( been away cannot confirm that) and also there is a book on mariners who jumped ship in the Devonport Library Tasmania so I would suggest it is in other libraries ( green cover) Just some suggestions but Bosworth is not a typically Irish name I think >From my Irish experience I would look on the UK lists for this name to begin with. Just a suggestion nothing you have to follow though.
