    3. My grandfather, James Loftus Thomas, was born March 10, 1881 in Wexford, Ireland. In 1906 he moved to Oakland, California. Married an America, Alhilda Wilmena Johnson and lived there until his death on July 5, 1937. He worked for the Moore Ship Yard in Oakland as a Boiler Maker. I am told his father was Albert William Thomas. I have a 1920 census of him in Oakland, I have his WWI draft registration card, his death certificate and his children's birth certificates. On his WWI Draft Registration Card dated September 12, 1918. It has checked under Alien, non-declarant. Does this mean he didn't apply for naturalization? I am confused because in the 1920 census it lists nothing about citizenship. I was going to try to get his birth certificate but it ask when he emigrated and I can't find him before 1920 in the census. I am not 100% sure of his father's name, just what the family told me. Any ideas?? I have been looking for his man for almost 3 years and am getting no where. Janet Hanson hanson@idir.net
