    1. [WEXFORD] TERRELLS OF WORLD UNITE!!!
    2. Hello, Cousins, I am sure I have left some off this list and have some on who would rather not be associated with the rest if us. But I am working on it. And if you aren't a TERRELL or like surname, welcome anyway. I am carry a meeting of the Terrible Terrells for a round up on my behalf. As some of you know I am a lost sheep. I can go no further back that my grandfather because he ran away with a pretty (I hope so!!) circus performer around 1926-27 while serving as postmaster in Memphis. I am a CPA and I just don't seem to have the hours in the day to accomplish all that needs to be done. I cannot sleep tonite for some reason and so this partially the reason for this note. I have very little research time. This is why I need a little of you help to point me in the right direction. Here is the way it play out. My grandfather's name was Chilton DeWitt TERRELL. From looking at the migration of Terrells and like surnames and their concentrations for the first 200 years of settlement and movement West, the migration of my line of Terrells probably went from VA, NC, TN, KY, AR,MO,TX, and maybe to OH to North and GA in South. Chilton Dewitt TERRELL was allegedly born around 1890 in St. Francis County, Forest City, AR. There is a land grant record of a Terrell there around 1840 and there exists a DeWitt County, AR.and a Terrell County, GA ,etc. So we did spread out. I know my grandfather had several brothers and sisters and that his parents must have died while they were young. Here are the links I am trying to run down: ALLEN, FERGUSON, CHILTON, MAY, DAY, AND DEWITT and where and when they merged with the TERRELLS.. I am leaning towards Ireland as the start point because some were Catholic. And the Tyrrells of Ireland revolted several times against the English. They had to go somewhere; at least those that survived Cromwell, etc. I cannot find where they followed DeLacy to Russia or Capt Richard Tyrrell back to Spain. I think most records in the old country both in Ireland and England have long been destroyed or turned to dust. If any of you have any links or information sources to the TERRELLS who may have traveled that route from the VA or NC and the other surnames mentioned above linked with a Terrell, please let me know. Obviously Terrell(like surnames) could have been changed many times along the way in order to avoid the law and shotgun weddings. It is interesting to read the history of the Tyrrells in England and Ireland; however, I need that special link especially to the Chiltons and the Dewitts - they have to be surnames and I have pretty well discounted the Chiles Terrell Texas line. Thank you very much for your assistance and I am apologize if I stepped on anyone's toes or inconvenienced anyone in anyway. Warmest regards, Jack Norton Terrell, CPA San Antonio, Texas
