--part1_32047b18.24f9cea0_boundary Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Since this is a County Wexford genealogy search, thought I'd share it with my County Wexford listers as well as the Duffield list. Appreciate any help or light at the end of the tunnel anyone can provide. With all good wishes, /S/ Jim Carey Washington, DC --part1_32047b18.24f9cea0_boundary Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Return-path: RADMCarey@aol.com From: RADMCarey@aol.com Full-name: RADM Carey Message-ID: <cfbef340.24f953db@aol.com> Date: Sat, 28 Aug 1999 11:01:47 EDT Subject: My Duffields To: DUFFIELD-L@rootsweb.com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: AOL 4.0 for Windows 95 sub 21 are from County Wexford, Ireland, and I have two of them in my lineage. Martha DUFFIELD married Edward TACKABERRY of Farouamille, County Wexford [spelling may be wrong -- presuming both born around 1800] and they had three children, Elizabeth Ruth TACKABERRY b. August 19, 1823 [my Great Grandmother], and sons Nicholas and William [don't have birth dates]. Martha's sister Hannagh DUFFIELD [b. 1793, presumably also in Farouamille] married my Great Great Grandfather Bengeman HARRISON,[ b. 1775 in Hardyglass near Lake Tacumshin, County Wexford] and one of their sons was Samuel Aaron HARRISON b. July 25, 1823. Samuel was a sea-going Navigator by trade, and had 5 brothers & sisters as follows: Hannah Francis, b. 1820; Susan b. 1818, and Benjamine, William, & George, & I don't have birth dates or years on any of the last 3. Bengeman HARRISON died March 24, 1852, and Hannagh DUFFIELD HARRISON dued July 15, 1843. Both are buried in Ballybrennan Cemetery in County Wexford. In addition to Hannagh & Martha, my records show there was a third Duffield daughter, Susan, and no sons. Don't have any further information on Susan other than her name. Elizabeth Ruth TACKABERRY, Martha DUFFIELD's daughter, [and possibly one or more of her sisters] and Hannagh DUFFIELD's son Samual Aaron HARRISON, both emigrated from Ireland aboard the ship GLENLYON, sailing from New Ross, Ireland on April 28th, 1854 and landing in Montreal, Canada in June of that year. They remained in Canada for several years, and got married on Christmas Day of either 1854 or 1855, and some of their children were born there, before emigrating to the USA, where they settled in the Township of Leon, Waushara County, near Lake Poygan in Wisconsin. One of their sons, Cadwallader Joseph Edmund HARRISON was my grandfather and his first born, Ruth Margaret HARRISON was my mother. Interested in trying to locate some of my DUFFIELD ancestors in Ireland, or any of their descendents either in Ireland or the USA. With two DUFFIELD sisters in my direct line of lineage, this is an important part of my families heritage. Any and all responses much appreciated.
