Hi Joan, Its been some time since we've exchanged STAFFORD information and in that time I've learned that my gggrandfather, William STAFFORD was baptised in St. Martin's Roman Catholic church, Piercestown, Diocese of Ferns, County Wexford 25 August 1825. His parents and sponsors are also given. While this is but a small bit of information do you or other Wexford listers see a connection with your lines? Pierce(s)town is apparently a placenane within the RC parish of Rathmacknee. Other names with STAFFORD connections appear to be Johnstown Castle and Baldwinstown. An Irish contact has written me there are only two STAFFORDs buried in the Rathangan graveyard. They are William Edmond STAFFORD, buried 1827, and his wife Mary Margaret STAFFORD, who was a STAFFORD birth. Maybe someone will read this and will be able to fill in another piece of the puzzle. Happy New Year and hope to hear from you! Harry I. Stafford <teebag2@juno.com>
