Re: Anastasia Unfortunately, this is NOT an uncommon first name for girls in nineteenth-century/early twentieth-century Co. Wexford (or, indeed, in most of Ireland) Therefore, to rely on it as a "family name" might not be sound methodology in your genealogical research. Anastasia was frequently abbreviated as Anti or Anty in parish registers. Almost every family seems to have had one ;-) My father, born in 1902, had an Aunt Anty! In this century the preferred abbreviation was/is Statia.
