Hello Owen The surname Walsh is among the most prominent name in Newfoundland. I have Walshs in my ancestry as well. Many studies have been done on emigration patterns to Newfoundland from Ireland and in one done for the period of 1790 - 1850, the statistics break down as follows; County Kilkenny - 25% County Wexford - 24% County Waterford - 20% County Tipperary - 16% My Ancestor Thomas Walsh emigrated from County Wexford cira 1816 about the same time as my "Connors" Ancestors who came from Enniscorthy, County Wexford. As you may know by now, the earliest records available for County Wexford are 1794.
