    1. [WEX] DOYLE in Craan 1700's
    2. I have recently learned that my ancestor, Elizabeth DOYLE, who married Edmond NOLAN, prior to 1792, apparently came from a wealthy family. She came from Craan, Co Wexford and Edmond came from Ballinrush, RC Parish of Myshall, Co Carlow. Elizabeth's dowry was the townland of Craan!!! I am just starting to search my Wexford connection, but this latest bit of news caught me by surprise. I suppose Craan wasn't that big, but for someone to own the land the townland sits on, well that sounds impressive to me!!! I don't know how accurate this bit of info is, and am not sure if I could even try to prove it. But it sounds interesting nonetheless. I am searching for sites on Wexford and found this <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~fianna/county/wexford.html">County Wexford< /A> http://www.rootsweb.com/~fianna/county/wexford.html and wanted to share . . . one good turn deserves another. I can post more as I find them. Debbie
