I'm just beginning to research my g g grandfather, Thomas CROSBY, who emigrated to Vermont from Wexford in the early 1850's. I believe my g g grandmother's name was Anne STATIN. Their six children born in Ireland were Alexander, Miles(Milo), Mike, William, Kate, and Bridget. I don't know anything other than this. Where to begin?? I'ld like to jump in here and offer you a little bit of help. I too was doing research from Wexford to Vermont....and found a wealth of information in Vermont. I was trying to jump to Ireland so fast I didnt' look at what was right here in between. Do as much research as you possibly can at home thru the LDS or your local genealogical society. Join the surname lists on www.rootsweb.com. I was able to locate direct descendents of our Patrick and Bridget Bryne Kehoe from these types of lists and thats how I found out what parish to look for. It's a journey. A grand one but one that must begin at home....which ever side of the pond that may be.
