Hi all Although I'm new to this list I have been researching my family now for six years. I have now reached a major brick wall and hope that someone out there has come across these people in their own research. EVOY Garret EVOY, born c 1804, Ireland; died 1876 Ste-Marguerite, Quebec, Canada; married Catherine STAFFORD born c 1811 Ireland died 1857 Ste-Marguerite, Quebec, Canada. I'm not sure if they married in Ireland or Canada. I have not been able to find a marriage record for them. They raised eight children, born between 1833 and 1850. Moses, Mary Elizabeth, Margaret, Catherine, Johanna, Bridget, Patrick, and Philip. I have also researched this family group as the similarlity in names makes me believe there might be a link between them. Philip EVOY born c 1798 Co. Wexford, Ireland, died 1861 Sillery, Quebec, Canada, married Ireland to Honora MEYERS/MYERS born c 1800 Co. Wexford, Ireland, died 1886 Quebec, Canada. They had six children. (1) Moses, Garret, John, (2) Philip, Margaret, and Mary. (1) Moses EVOY born c 1827 Ireland, died 1902 Québec, Canada, married 1860 Quebec Canada, Catherine HOGAN born ?, died 1918 Québec, Canada. Their children were Catherine, Margaret Ann, Mary, Philip John, Edward, William Garret born between 1860-1874. (2) Philip EVOY born 1840 Tintern Co., Wexford, Ireland, died 1917 Quebec, Canada, married Bridgit ROSS 1880 Quebec, Canada, born 1854 Quebec, Canada, died 1898 Darian, Geo., USA. STAFFORD Philip STAFFORD born Wexford, Ireland; died Bet. 1843 - 1850 ; married Catherine POWER died Bet. 1850 - 1867. I cannot find any record of Philip and Catherine in Quebec, Canada. I'm not convinced they actually made it to Canada. The range of death deaths is taken from marriage records. They had five children all born in Ireland. Lawrence's burial monument states that he was born in New Ross, Wexford. Therefore I'm assuming that Philip and Catherine were married and that all children were born in New Ross, Wexford.
