In reply to Edel Codd's posting re: Horetown National School. There is no school in Horetown itself. The nearest schools would be (1) Clongeen, (2) Newbawn, (3) Taghmon, and (4) Carroreagh (sometimes spelt as Caroreigh). Horetown itself is only a townland of Foulksmills as would be say Johnstown to Duncormick, (not Johnstown Castle, this is in Piercestown). The name "town" doesn't necessarily indicate the presence of "a town", more often just a gathering of anything from a single house (not necessarily inhabited or even habitable) to whatever.
