I am new to this list and am seeking info on the name HENDRICKS in the first half of the 19th century. I am descended from JAMES HENDRICKS born Wexford in Aug of 1803. His father's first name was PHILIP (I think). JAMES married MARY MEEHAN. They had at least three children born in the 1830's and 1840's: PHILIP, ANNA, and JAMES. The family left Wexford in the 1840's or 1850's and arrived in New Orleans and eventually settled in Louisville, Kentucky. I am seeking any info on this family, or even info on the name HENDRICKS name in Wexford--how common was/is the name, from where families with this name came to the Wexford area of Ireland, and whether there is anyone today with this name who lives in Wexford and who may have a sensw of the family history.
