    3. Dear Listers, Would welcome any info, connections about the following: Walter POWER married Anstace ROSSITER at Kilmore, Wexford on 29.2.1823. (witn, Nicholas HOWLIN & wife). Children born to marriage: Margaret bapt. 27.2.1829 Kilmore Mary bapt. 3.9.1831 Kilmore Anty bapt. 28.2.1837 Kilmore Patrick bapt. 30.5.1839 Kilmore Richard b.c. 1841 Kilmore (no bapt. found) Richard came to Victoria, Australia. Margaret went to Penna., USA. (desc. traced). Family stories! Richard's claim he came to Oz with a cousin/brother who went straight on to USA. Margaret's claim she went to USA with a couple of siblings. Have checked Oz shipping records and the only realistic entry for Richard has him arriving on the "Globe", Dec 1868. Bingo!! Further check revealed that he travelled with Margaret, John & Mary POWER! All single & irish & listed together. Men were farmers, ladies were servants. Is John a cousin or brother? I must assume he went to USA. What of Mary? Note: Margaret POWER became POWERS in USA ! Am in contact with a POWER family in Wexford and we believe we are related (they have photos of Richard's family, etc) but have no definite proof. They descend from a Walter POWER married Margaret DEVEREUX in 1845. I assume that this Walter is probably the eldest son of Walter & Anstace (perhaps bc 1824, making him 21 yrs when married) or perhaps is a cousin! Any help, comments or info would be greatly appreciated! Andrea Balcombe (nee Power) RMB 1290, Cobden, Victoria, Australia. wp_balcombe@bigpond.com.au
