Hello "new" fellow listers, I am new to the list and thought I would post my information. I have been searching for gr grandad Martin Gilroy for about 8 years. I have finally narrowed him down to arriving here (New York) about 1850. He was single but may have been travelling with his future wife Mary Loftus. The only info I have is that she too is from Wexford and they married in the US. He was born about 1830 and was a farmer in Ireland. Nothing else.......I've researched passenger lists till I'm cross eyed, and I'm sure I haven't check ALL of them but 3 years of looking has disgruntled me :-). Has this name come up in anybody's research or if they can give me the name of some Churches there that I can write to it would be great. I do know that he was Roman Catholic.
