Hello list - I have been intrigued by a couple recent postings on the list - basically, I wonder if someone could give me a short synopsis of the "Robinson settlers of Canada" - apparently from the early 1800's or point me to the right place to learn about them. My gr grandfather James Robinson was from New Ross, Co. Wexford and came to the United States via Canada (at Niagara Falls) about 1889. I am wondering if there might be some connection to the "Robinson settlers" alluded to above. I know nothing about his ancestry except that he was of the Church of Ireland and his parents were Matthew ROBINSON and Anna Kehoe. He married Mary CADOGAN in New Ross in 1872.
