Hello My name is Dean and I am new to this list. I am searching for information on my FINNIGAN ancestors who came from Wexford. Much of the information I have is from a marriage certificate and an old family letter written in 1922. My great-grandfather was George Stephen FINNIGAN, b. 1845 in County Wexford (exact whereabouts unknown). He left Ireland and married Cecilia BALEY in 1870 in Bangalore, India. His name on the marriage certificate was FANNIGAN, which may have been a spelling mistake. He later changed his name to FANAKEN. He died in Bangalore in 1935. George’s parents were George Patrick FINNIGAN, b. 1820 in Mountnebo, Gory, County Wexford, and Cornelia DANIELL, b. 1827 in Ireland. They married in Dublin in 1844. I want to try and confirm the above information, particularly that from Irish sources, and would appreciate any advice on how and where to start. Would there be any parish records for Mountnebo or Gory? Dean in New Zealand
