My grandfather, John Lyng was born on May 23, 1852 and was baptised in the Roman Catholic parish of Sutton's, a few miles south of New Ross, County Wexford, on the 30th of July 1853. His father, also John was a farmer who appears in Griffith's Valuation of 1853 occupying 80 acres of land in the towland of Oldcourt. His mother's name is given in the parish register as Anne Shallow. His godparents were Pat Shallow and May Anne Brien. My grandfather married Mary Riley on July 31, 1890 in Nevadaville, Bald Mountain, CO at St. Mary's of Assumption Church. John died June 17, 1912 and both he and my grandmother are buried in Catholic Cemetery, Central City, CO. One of their children was my dad, Thomas Francis Lyng who was born in 1906 and passed away in 1982 here in Long Beach, CA. My father was then adopted by Patrick Lyng who was a cousin of John's. Patrick was born on July 4, 1875 in Cushinspown, Diocese of Fexus, County Wexford, Ireland. I would like to find out more about my grandfather's family in Co Wexford back in the 1800's. Also would like to find out when my grandfather came to the states and with whom, name of ship and dates he came. I hope that I hear from you. Sincerely, Suzanne (LYNG) Lenahan E-Mail: SLena78475@aol.com
